Yesterday I had my birthday lunch (the actual day is later this week). In a departure from past practice, I decided to have lunch instead of dinner. (This decision was made following numerous complaints from a certain member of the family regarding picking me up after hours)
As I usually do, I left the planning til the preceding half-week. In typical Anna style, I was spent the better part of Thursday trying to draw up a guest list. The list included Justin, Jacqueline, Jonnie, Chris, Ryan, David and Corum (who didn't turn up for the lunch because I forgot to hound him about the RSVP). Strapped for venue ideas, I asked Justin to supply me with the names of some restuarants in Parramatta. I ended up settling on the Mediterranean Kitchen (I was considering Temasek, but this one was vetoed). The main reason I went for the Mediteranean Kitchen was that I'd always wanted to try gnocchi ever since I first saw it on Better Homes & Gardens. My dish turned out to be not as good as I thought. To owe the truth, it started out ok, then the cheese started to get a little too... well, cheesy.
For post-lunch stuff, we wandered around Westfields for a while. Part of the plan was to see a movie, but there were no non-3D screenings for the new Narnia movie that were close to 3:30pm. So the rest of the day got wasted on wandering around Westfields aimlessly, while trying to find something I liked. As one may have guessed, I din't buy a single thing at the shops yesterday (as far as I can recall).
We could have got you a Pokemon hat but you said no.
